She sat alone in the dark watching the dancers whirl on the dance floor in time to the loud jazz music of the live band that played the club every weekend. Her body swayed in her chair. She had a far off look in her eyes and a sad smile on her face. His eyes were drawn to her time and time again. She was the wrong sort of woman, but she drew his gaze like a moth to a flame. She looked out of place here. Her sandals were under the table. Her bare feet tucked somewhere under her within the many folds of her skirt. He knew if she stood, the skirt would reach the floor. Her waist long strawberry blond hair was contained in a neat plat. Her bohemian poet's shirt rounded out the good girl look.

Watching her, he realized her eyes were following one couple, an older man and woman. He could easily pick up the features she shared with them. She had the man's crystal blue eyes and the woman's stature and bone structure. Her hair was a cross between the man's blonde and the woman's red. He wondered, when loosened was her hair straight like the man's or curly like the woman's.

He decided that he would ask her is she would like to dance the next dance and started to edge along the outskirts of the crowded dance floor. He was almost too her when a large hulk of a man with a long scar on his cheek grabbed her from behind and pulled her toward the door. She was struggling to get away and he could tell she was trying to scream but the guy had his huge hand firmly clamped over her mouth. He started to run after them wondering why no one was trying to help her. At the same time stopped and her parents noticed what was going on as they turned from the dance floor. They both yelled and started running after the man calling for help as they ran. He reached the doors before them and ran out onto the side walk but they were nowhere in sight and he heard the distant squalling of tires going around the corner down the street but he was too late to see the vehicle. Her parents arrived and asked if he had seen which way they went.

He pulled out his radio and called to his team. "Anyone see details on that vehicle?"
"Confirmed. A.P.B. on vehicle issued." Come the reply.
"excellent work. Let me know when you find him."
He turned to her parents. "Don't blow my cover, please. My life and your daughter's depends on it."
They nodded numbly.
